Developing this painting hasn’t been easy. My first idea was putting a candle in the girl’s hands as source of light. Then I tried removing it, as to leave only the idea of the light having a defined origin. But I wanted something more, something that challenged the eyes of the viewers. When I saw the sunset on the ocean as a burning fire I had the natural conclusion of my quest.
